Q: What movie, made in the 60s, takes place in France, famous actor and actress, a Ford GT40?
I saw this movie a while ago. The movie had a part II, with the same main actor and actress, involving in the first movie a beautiful Ford GT40, which is being tested at a very famous raceway. It was made in the 60s and I can’t remember the plot, exactly. The actor and actress are both very famous and I’m sure it’s a well known movie from the time period.
Thank you very much for your help.

Q: What is the difference between a Ford GT and a Ford GT40?
A: Ford GT is the new iteration of the GT40. The Ford GT has been teched up compared to the Ford GT40 which won lemans 3 years in a row with spots 1,2 and 3 during the 60s. The new Ford GT is powered by a 5.4 liter supercharged engine which produces 550 horspower as well as torque. The reason its not called GT40 is because due to windtunnel testing the height has increased to 44 inches instead of the 40 inches of the GT 40 hence the name and also the name itself is registered to Shelby Corp. The new GT has creature comforts like AC and Sound while the old one was a racing beast made to show Ferrari Ford was boss because Ferrarri back out of a corporate buyover by ford in 1960s

Q: Which one is faster in the quarter mile, the Ford GT40 OR a 700 Horsepower Camero (newer ones)?
I know the Camero has a lot more power, but the Ford GT40 is one of the fastest street cars there is
What about the 1/2 mile?
A: In order to get 700 ponies out of a camaro you’d have to really build it up. I think the Camaro would win in the quarter mile, but the GT would take the 1/2 because of it’s top end speed.
Q: On a GT40 Ford 302 engine purchased from Summit racing how much horsepower can this block handle?
A: click on the specs @ that site
Q: will the ford GT40 ever come back into production?
i haven’t seen a new design since 2008
A: I am guessing that you are calling the Ford GT the GT40. The 40 is there for a reason and does mean a lot if you have seen the two cars. The GT40 was a prime example of American ingenuity. The reincarnated GT, on the other hand, is a prime example of Detroit being the Detroit. Rehash what people consider vintage and offer little technological advancement. It was disappointing to see them bring back a legendary car only to barely have it compete against the Z06.
If they do bring it back into production, hopefully they will remind us why the car was legendary.
Q: Where can i find technical information about Ford GT40 Mark II from 1967?
A: By 1967 they were a Mk IV, and had the 427 in them. The Mk II was earlier, still with the small block.

The Ford GT website has some cool historical pictures of the original GT40’s, as well as some great data on the new one (in case you *only* want to spend $151000 on one instead of the truly big dollars you’d have to put into an old one…). Here’s a link for Ford’s GT site:

Q: Why the ford gt40 1965 replica has two fuel tanks and/or two gas caps?
A: Yep. You have to use the room available, and, sitting so low, can’t go underneath, like a street car. Also, with the fuel evenly being used from both tanks, the handling doesn’t change as the tanks get lighter.
Q: where could you get a 1966 ford gt40 engine?
if you can get one… i think you can though
A: The Ford GT’s were made from 1963 to 1970. Depending on what model engine you want. In 1966 Ford had the GT40 and the GT40 MKII They had either the 4.7L (289ci) or the 7.0L (427ci) . These were the common ford small block and big block of the time used in just about all their model lines. (Search yahoo or google for 427 FE or 289 / 302 ford)
You can still purchase new crate engines from ford performance or race built engines from Dove engineering. A built 427 can cost upwards of $45000.00 with the Weber IDF’s
The engine was the easy part to get it was the weber carbs and the bundle of snakes exhaust that will be hard to find along with the custom built Hewland LG500 or KarKraft gear boxes the they were mated to.

Q: info about a FORD GT40?
ANY THING ABOUT A FORD GT40
A: The Ford GT40 was a race only car constructed beween 1965 and 1968. While originally only referred to as the GT in prototype stages (first twelve cars), the GT40 nomenclature was devised for the production versions to denote the 40″ overall height. It won the 24-hours of LeMans 4 times in a row, and pretty much dominated the racing circuit. The engine size ranged from a 255 ci v-8 to a 427 ci v-8 depending on what the rules allowed. Rule changes after the 1968 racing season pretty much killed the car. In 1995, Ford unveiled a prototype car, the Ford GT, that was styled to resemble and pay homage to the GT40. The Ford GT was produced from 2004-2006. It was powered by a 32-valve supercharged 5.4 Liter v-8, producing 550 horsepower. Top speed was 205 mph. Only slightly over 4000 GT’s were produced.
Q: how much is a ford gt40 and where can you buy one?
im talking about the new 06-07 gt40’s
A: Its Ford GT not GT40. They were only made in 2005 & 2006 and in very low volumes. So it would take a lot of looking and I doubt people would be selling one so quickly after they paid $150k+ on one.
Q: What motor oil comes stock from the factory in the engine of a FORD GT ( the remake of the GT40 from the 60’s)
http://www.fordgt.org/images/stories/pics/ford-gt2.jpg
I know for example Chevy Corvette’s are factory stock with Mobil1. So what does the Ford GT use anyone actually know for a fact?
A: Motorcraft 5W-50
